GKA is a dojo where you can learn and deepen Kendo, a traditional Japanese martial art, which descended from samurai swordsmanship (kenjutsu) and uses bamboo swords (shinai) and protective gears (bogu) in Atlanta Georgia since 1977.

We are off to a great start to 2025! Thank you to everyone who made it to Torrence's 50 Year Anniversay Tournament on Jan 25-26th, to our joint practice with Charlotte on Feb 1st!

Some house keeping:

GKA and AUSKF membership renewals are coming up. Make sure your membership is up to date.

Saturday (Summerour Middle School Gym)

4:30pm - 5:30pm, Beginner’s class
5:00pm - 7:15pm, Bogu class (overlap, we now have enough space!)

Wednesday (STUDIO 87 Yoga studio)
87 S Peachtree St, Norcross, GA 30071

8:00pm - 9:15PM, bogu only class

Cost:

Starting January 2024, prices are as follows:

GKA Member price:
3 dan and below members: $50/month
3 dan and below family rate: $40/month (per person, same household)
4-dan and above: free of charge

GKA Yearly registration: $30 (starts in March)
SEUSKF/AUSKF: TBD, previously $100

Non-member Guest fees
$10 per session

We do ask that our members attend Saturday practice regularly unless you have a conflict and need to take a break from kendo. Wednesday is optional for bogu members. Feel free to email us if you have any questions.

All fees go towards renting facitilies for class
