Several announcements this week:
In preparation for the SEUSKF Junior and AUSKF Junior tournaments, Arai sensei is looking to do an extended match practice for the youth members of GKA. The mock tournament will be held on January 12, 2019 at 5:00 PM. We encourage all youth to participate in this event, especially those that are participating in the tournament. For senior students, please use this opportunity to work on your shinpan skills as we will probably be ask to do shinpan in the up and coming tournaments. All 3+ dan are highly encourage to come and participate as shinpan. There will still be classes going on during this time, and we can rotate people between classes and running the event.
1) SEUSKF Junior tournament (January 19, 2019):
SEUSKF have release information for the tournament. Since we are the home club, and GKA has a large number of youth, we are recommending every youth to join the tournament. There are several divisions, so please sign up accordingly. The application and information are:

2) First SEUSKF tryout for men and youth:
SEUSKF is inviting members to try out for the 2020 AUSKF National Tournament. SEUSKF has been evaluating possible team members through prospective practices and tournaments.
One of the biggest factors in the final selection will be the results of this tryout.
On January 20th, 2019, we will hold only Mens and Junior tryouts due to limited time and space.
(For Senior, Mudansha, and Womens, we will inform you of the tryout day later.)

Location: Lifetime Fitness Johns Creek 11555 Johns Creek Parkway Johns Creek, GA 30097
Tryout method: Mens: Round Robin by Bracket (Coaches will make the brackets)
Junior: Team match style (No individual match as semi-Try out.)*
*Jr’s tryout is not the final member selection but capabilities in each position will be evaluated
(It's by age group in Youth Team regulation).
Participants: SEUSKF Mens and Junior Members
Qualifications: Kenshi who satisfy following conditions:
a) Participant/ parents can commit to attend the 2020 AUSKF National Tournament
and SEUSKF Team practices.
b) Kenshi who has won prizes at official tournaments in the last 5 years or whose
instructor or regional coach recommends as prize-winning level.
c) Kenshi who passes unannounced doping/drug tests.
d) Mens: 19 yrs old or older, Jr.: 18 yrs or younger (at Jan 1, 2020)

3) AUSKF Junior National (April 6, 2019):
We have not receive the registration information on this yet, but please save the date. The tournament will be on April 6, 2019. People will be flying in from all over United State for this tournament. This tournament will be open to any youth 18 years old and under.
4) Class payment:
We are approaching the end of the year, and we have to do our final book keeping for 2018. Please make sure that your payment is up-to-date. If you have any questions, please see Hwan Gi Lee for any missing payment.
